Bullish Celtic's manager insists he is not worried about dismissal yet Celtic fans unleash anger following defeat.
Wilfried Nancy insisted he did not fear the sack, maintaining, “We are extremely close to things turning around,” even after moving dangerously close to the chopping block with a convincing loss to their arch-rivals.
Another Meltdown Results in Old Firm Loss
The Hoops had led their oldest rivals at the break but a disastrous second period allowed Danny Röhl’s team to pull level on points with the reigning Scottish Premiership champions. The French coach, who was hired from Columbus Crew, has now presided over six defeats in eight matches.
“There is unity at the club,” insisted Nancy.
Questioned about his own future, he said: “That’s not my focus. My focus is on discovering solutions to aid my players to improve on details.
Supporters' Anger On Display

“It’s the results [that leads to pressure]. So this is the situation for the moment. Yet in stating that’s how it is, it doesn’t mean that I am pessimistic. Absolutely not. My point is we are on the cusp, really, really close to turn things around.”
Nancy’s Persistent Belief
The coach remains focused on the fact his team show good levels for a half at a time. For instance, but for poor finishing they could have been greater than 1-0 up. “The performance had merit other than the fact that we didn't take a second goal,” he said. “I accept that we lost, but I must remain objective.
“The level we had at certain moments was really, really, really high. That happened. I wouldn't speak so positively if it was different. But that’s why, in terms of results, I mentioned we've seen this before. Which is why I said that a change is coming to getting it right. Right now: details, details, details.”
“We produced many, many good things that we did, once more. But now is consistency. My message would be different if it was not the case. This is why I am convinced we will manage to fix this.”
The Rangers Boss Stance
Danny Röhl played down talk of a championship push even after what appeared to be a statement victory. “Step by step, then we can gradually build something here,” he said. “The confidence in the group is immense.”
