Esteemed Actor Pat Finn, a versatile actor, Known For Parts in Friends and The Middle, Passes Away at 60 Years Old.
US performer Pat Finn, who featured in beloved TV shows such as Friends, Seinfeld and The Middle, has succumbed at the age of 60.
The skilled improv artist passed away at his residence in Los Angeles this Monday having undergone treatment for cancer beginning in 2022, per reports.
"Pat Finn considered no one a stranger - just potential friends he had yet to meet," his loved ones said in a message.
They continued that he had "lived his life fully - with joy and exuberance".
An Extensive TV Career
His initial on-screen part was in the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he portrayed the titular character's brother.
He subsequently landed a repeating character on Murphy Brown in the latter half of the 1990s.
He played the part of the character Joe Mayo in "Seinfeld" in 1998, portraying a party host who would assign tedious tasks to his guests.
Throughout the end of the 90s and start of the 2000s, he had guest spots on a variety of hit series, such as:
- "King of Queens"
- Friends
- "That '70s Show"
- House, M.D.
He was most recognized for portraying Bill Norwood in The Middle, starring in eight series between 2011 and 2018.
His work in movies include It's Complicated and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups.
A Life in Improv
Away from his acting parts, Finn was a skilled improviser and served as an educator at the University of Colorado, where he was a faculty member.
He was part of a six-member improv team known as "Beer Shark Mice".
"Pat taught, supported, and inspired numerous pupils during his career and you'd be hard-pressed to find anyone anywhere who has a bad thing to say about him," his relatives stated.
In a tribute, peer Richard Kind remarked there was "no kinder, gentler, funnier, grounded individual you could encounter".
"Perpetually optimistic, assisting others to improve and be funnier. A great dad, a great guy," he shared online.
Finn is remembered by his spouse Donna, his children, and his mother, father, and brothers/sisters.
