Ex- Doctor Charged with Sexual Assault Allegations Against Thirty-Eight Patients
Legal authorities have announced that a ex- doctor has been charged with performing sexual assaults against thirty-eight victims who were patients.
The Serious Charges
The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham is accused of numerous sexual offences – some of which involve some against children younger than 13 – spanning the period from 2017 and 2021.
One deputy chief prosecutor stated, “Legal teams have diligently worked to assist a thorough and intricate investigation, carefully reviewing the evidence to determine that there is a strong case to bring the case to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”
The Investigation
These allegations follow what investigators described as a “complex investigation” into alleged assaults at two hospitals: the Royal Stoke university hospital and a facility in Dudley.
The defendant is due to appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on January 20th.
Breakdown of Offences
The charging documents said the 45 sexual offences include:
- Fifteen counts of sexual assault.
- 17 counts of penetrative assault.
- Nine counts of sexual assault of a child under 13.
- Three counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration.
- One count of attempted penetrative assault.
