Football Expert Sutton Faces Off Against Artist Olly Murs in Premier League Predictions

The Gunners' 10-game winning run was ended by the Black Cats prior to the international break, but will the English top division frontrunners bounce back against local foes Tottenham this Sunday?

"{I feel like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a plan for this game," remarked soccer specialist Chris Sutton.

"The Spurs manager will try to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling best this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's side typically still manage to win."

Sutton is making predictions for all 380 Premier League fixtures this term, against AI, readers and a variety of special visitors.

In the twelfth round, he takes on singer Olly Murs, who is a United fan.

The singer's latest record, Knees Up, is available on Friday.

Football and Parenting Life

Olly is a talented soccer player as well as a successful artist and has been a star of several charity football games down the years - but he is not intending a professional comeback as a player.

"{I actually played in a charity game the other night for a friend of mine," he explained. "My team was losing 3-1 when I was substituted in the 60th minute, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you will!

"I continue to love football, but I injured my knee a few years ago and it still hasn't fully recovered. I hope I could play more but the unpredictability of the game means it's too dangerous for me in my career to do it properly again.

"Plus I am forty-one now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am preparing for the moment that my child or boy decides to play instead."

The singer and his spouse Amelia Tank have two children, Madison and Albert, and he is prepared to follow in his father's footsteps by taking on the role of their manager.

"I will not push football on our kids but I've already told Amelia that if they do get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will likely be managing their weekend soccer team," he said.

"I watched my relatives play a lot, and I really got into it, and I clearly owned a football club for a period too.

"My dad did it with us when I was a kid, which is likely where I get it from. He managed our side for several seasons and had great fun with it. That could be the next step for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"

Premier League Forecasts

Saturday, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

The Blues might have to be patient for their star's return from injury but their offense is already more potent with Joao Pedro and Liam Delap both back fit.

In my opinion this fixture will be quite close, though. Burnley are well organised and their sole home losses so far have been against Liverpool and Arsenal.

It suggests a 1-1 tie to me, but I am in fact going to go with Chelsea to edge it for what would be their third Premier League win in a row.

The expert's forecast: 1-2

The singer's pick: Chelsea will be superior. 1-3

Artificial intelligence's outlook: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Cherries have been defeated in their previous couple matches - although both of them were away - but they got thoroughly beaten by Villa last time out which shocked me.

On the other hand, the Hammers won back-to-back victories before the international break and, although both of those games were at home, they appear strong again.

The Hammers' sole away win this season came at Forest in the summer, when West Ham manager Nuno was previously Forest coach.

Therefore, what on earth do I predict here - will it be the Hammers extending their streak under Nuno, or the home side bouncing back?

I am going to go with the Cherries, because I think what happened against Villa was a anomaly.

The pundit's forecast: 2-0

The guest's prediction: Bournemouth are doing well but the visitors have picked up under Nuno. 2-2

AI's pick: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Bees were considered one of the frontrunners for relegation before the season began, but they have surprised a few observers under their manager and are in fine fettle with three wins in their last four matches.

A family member told me to select Bees forward Thiago in my Fantasy Football squad a few weeks back and, unfortunately, I didn't listen.

Thiago will probably score again on Saturday but I am still not going to pick him or back the away side at Amex Stadium.

The Bees have not had much fortune on the road this term, and the Seagulls are always decent at home. Brentford will try to hit them on the counter-attack but I feel the home manager's team pose much more of a danger.

The analyst's prediction: 2-1

The singer's prediction: This could be one of those games where you expect there is going to be a many scores but it in reality proves to be quite tight. 1-1

The computer's prediction: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

This is a huge fixture for Fulham, who have lost five of their last six games.

Fulham have have lots of quality in their team but it nonetheless seems like they could be sucked into a drop zone battle.

As for Sunderland, well they are the surprise package of the Premier League campaign so far.

The away side's display in the two-all draw with Arsenal last time out was excellent. We've not seen any other team rough up the Gunners like that this term, and Sunderland were fully competitive for them.

The logical choice to do to support the visitors here, because they are clearly capable of disrupting the hosts up too and, the last time they were in this part of London, they beat Chelsea at the end of October.

But I am not do that. Rather, I really need to continue going against the away team with my forecasts. I am claiming a lot of credit for their positive results because they clearly enjoy to defy my predictions.

Looking at Fulham's at Craven Cottage form, the sole team they have been defeated by is Arsenal. Marco Silva's side will be absolutely eager for a good result, so I am going to predict they will secure three points.

Sutton's forecast: 1-0

Olly's choice: I know Sunderland are performing strongly and also that the hosts are on a poor streak... but Fulham have nonetheless been decent at Craven Cottage this season. 2-0

The algorithm's outlook: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

It is a hard one to predict. The Reds have suffered seven of their last ten matches in every tournament, but might they be among the teams who profit from the {international break|
