How these Broncos and the flexible quarterback could halt that Chiefs' rule.

Week six of the 2025 NFL season

Live coverage features text commentary for the weekend matchups on multiple platforms, starting with Denver Broncos v New York Jets in London (from 14:00 BST). Additionally, audio coverage is available on designated networks covering another key matchup (from 21:00 BST).

We're in the sixth week of the football calendar , after last week's discussion regarding two top teams being possible championship contenders, they both lost their perfect starts.

Striking in those games was the amount of infractions both conceded. The Eagles committed them in key moments so they essentially beat themselves having led by two touchdowns entering the fourth period versus Denver, set to play in London this Sunday.

But it proved positive to see that Denver's QB the rookie managed to overcome that deficit before direct three scoring drives on three possessions in the fourth quarter, to win the game by four points.

The Broncos boast the top defender with CB their star corner. They rank first in goal-line defense, while the Eagles are number one in scoring near the end zone, yet Denver won that contest.

They executed the Eagles' number regarding simulated pressure. They did not necessarily sending extra pass rushers but they could position two linebackers in the 'A' gap then drop them out and dispatch a nickel from the outside.

Early on in the campaign, it was noted during a show that Denver might emerge as this season's surprise contenders. They ended the previous year well then did a good job in continuing that momentum.

Could Denver be this season's dark horses?

New tight end their tight end has excelled significantly and new RB their rusher is a guy the team trusts. He now ranks 5th in the NFL in ground gains (402) as well as tied for fourth in rushing scores (4).

I love how the coach Sean Payton has "RUN IT!" prominently on his call sheet.

That shows that Denver represent a team aiming to prioritize the run, since one can achieve much off the back of that. It slows opposing rushes while keeps you in favourable down and distances.

This has helped QB the young passer, who came the NFL as the 12th overall draft pick last year, throwing 29 touchdown passes – second only to a star QB for the rookie record (31 in 2020).

Other elite QBs have powerful arms to throw anywhere, but they don't move in the same way as Nix. He has incredible passing ability, which is different, plus he's highly agile.

His assets include his mobility, the capacity to pass on the run, as well as using different arm angles to deliver the pass as he moves out of the pocket, the bootlegs. He can deliver precision throws over the middle or past defenders.

As a rookie QB, at 25, he's got a lot of poise under pressure and isn't bothered by extra rushers. He tries to evade being tackled whenever possible and is able throw in tight spots. He has a high football IQ and is very decisive.

If you consistently rush it eats up time and makes the opponent to be in play for longer, and if you have a mobile QB the defense must defend the area downfield and horizontally. This proves draining.

The quarterback has bitten back with the coach on the sideline at times and I think the coach appreciates that fire, seeing him as such a competitor. In my view it's exciting for the coach to have a young quarterback that is similar to play-dough. He can truly develop him how he wants to shape him. I think it's a special experience for him.

The head coach owns a Super Bowl and now surpassed a legend in all-time victories (173 - tied 14th overall). He has witnessed everything. In my opinion the achievements the Broncos are experiencing offensively is mostly due to his leadership, his schemes, his game sense – and the combination with the QB aids make him what he is.

You wouldn't want a more qualified person in your ear, to assist you through some of the tougher situations and boost self-belief.

I have faith in the Broncos' defense, in Bo Nix's tenacity and composure. Yet is the team good enough to face an elite team at its best? Since that wasn't championship-level play by the Eagles last Sunday.

Currently, I don't think the Broncos are incredible. They're working above average, which is a good place to be in the AFC West. All they need to do is maintain this path.

They're really good at embracing their strength, which is running the ball, and this is precisely what they must do versus the Jets at Tottenham. It will likely be a Dobbins-focused game, in essence.

The Jets have surrendered 140 rushing yards each contest (among the worst), five ground scores so far (10th worst), and they're the sole squad without a win a game.

Ever since the NFL began tracking takeaways decades ago, this team are the first team to go without a single takeaway in five outings, which is surprising considering that their new coach Aaron Glenn a defensive coach with another team.

Patrick Mahomes stated the Chiefs have 'already lost too many games' following a recent loss to Jacksonville.

Following this Sunday's game, Denver face a smooth-ish schedule up to their break (in week twelve) - the New York Giants, Dallas Cowboys, Houston Texans plus the Raiders before the Kansas City Chiefs.

Looking at the AFC West, Kansas City are 2-3 and the Broncos are tied with the Los Angeles Chargers at 3-2 so they could challenge at leading the West.

This hinges upon which form of the Chiefs they meet since the Broncos {beat|def
